ASCO Model 141 (Edco SRA16C-1) Surge Protective Device

The ASCO Model 141 is a three terminal device, two of which are connected across the signal inputs of the detector for differential mode protection, and the third is grounded to protect against common mode damage. Model 141 is intended for all current detector models on the market.

Installation
Mounting brackets are available for installing multiple units in the controller cabinet. The brackets are capable of mounting four or eight devices in-line. One Edco SRA16C-1 is used for each loop detector to be protected.

Units are installed as close as practical to the point where the detector loop wires enter the controller cabinet. Connect one of the flexible leads to each end of the loop. The common (bolt) connection on each Edco SRA16C-1 must be connected to earth ground.

Best performance is obtained by (1) shortening the fl exible leads as much as possible, and (2) providing the lowest possible impedance to ground.

NOTE:
The Edco SRA16C-1W/LEADS (special order) is installed very similar to the standard unit except the common (bolt) is replaced with a green wire.
